Agriculture Research
& Services Intern
Position Information:
- Hourly wage: starting at $16.00
- Hours per week: 35-40
- Duration: April – September
- Location: Falmouth, NS; various field locations throughout the Annapolis Valley & NS
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- You will be an essential part of our service and research team.
- You will be responsible for collecting samples, recording progress and data throughout the season, and delivering products to growers.
- You will become an effective scout in various crops for pests, diseases, and nutrient concerns.
- You will also set up, maintain, and monitor field trials we use to evaluate new products and management techniques.
Qualifications
- You are pursuing an education in science and/or agriculture.
Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to work extended hours, and some weekends
- High regard for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to work alone and with others
- Excellent communicator
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to do physical labor in all weather
- Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive information
- Proficient in computer applications
